Hi everyone.
Entries are open, so spread the word and get your entry in as soon as possible (even if only indicative at this stage). I will then know with whom to keep in closest contact.
Competition venue is Kingborough Sports Centre, about 10min south of Hobart city, with social functions to be held at Buckingham Bowls Club and Sublime@ Maypole – both about 10min north of city centre.
We’ve been looking into some holiday options – supplementary to what you’ve probably already found on discovertasmania.com.au – but let me know if you plan to bring the car from Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania; if there’s a few takers, I’ll contact them to see if a deal is on the cards. We will endeavour to include many varied holiday choices in the booklet.
For now, apart from entries (!), I’d like to know whether you think it is a good idea to have some kind of bus transport to/from the Friday and Saturday functions. I acknowledge that most will have hire cars and the like, and designated drivers, but doesn’t hurt to ask. Thanks!!!

There will be a flat $600 team entry fee with no duties and the social events are included in the entry fee. Courtesy buses will be available to pick up & return participants to their hotels etc.
Kingborough Sports Centre is the venue, about 10 minutes south of Hobart. There are 4 spacious courts, a canteen and a room overlooking 2 of the courts where various drinks can be purchased.

Please start canvassing potential players and your team mates and keep the 6-9th April 2012 free. We will be playing at Kingston, so you can choose accommodation near the wharf, or closer to the city is Battery Point or Sandy Bay. Wrest Point Casino is in Sandy Bay for example. Wotif.com is always a good place to start looking.
